Description and Review: As the name implies, the Alice in Wonderland: Adventures in Wonderland slot, is based on the Lewis Carroll book. The developers – Ash Gaming – have even gone so far as to make sure the graphics are in keeping with the whole Victorian/Edwardian weirdness of the original.
All of us on the Slots Universe.net team agreed that the twittering birds sound-effects were very annoying, though!
However, this might just be our new favourite slot. In fact, we had to delay this review for a day or two to check that what all three of us were seeing wasn’t just fluke. Consequently, we played Adventures in Wonderland far more than we normally would when reviewing an online slot. Why? Read on to find out!
The game is a five reel, 20 payline slot with three bonus features and a progressive jackpot that currently is hovering around the ?150,000 level. The first thing you’ll notice is that there are very, very few dead spins. Most of the wins will be less than your bet size (we started betting ?0.10 per line – ?2.00 bet) but it keeps the game entertaining.
Now, on to the really good stuff. One of those bonus features is the ‘Down The Rabbit Hole’ symbol. This appears only on Reel 3. Now, usually with this kind of feature, you’ll see it once in 50 or 100 spins. Not so Adventures in Wonderland. We got this on average every 7 spins or so.
In this round, Alice falls down the rabbit hole, hitting items on shelves, which trigger prizes. Generally, we got between 5-20x total bet size for this bonus.
Consequently, the bankroll kept going up and up and up. At one point, I was hitting the ‘Down The Rabbit Hole’ bonus every 5 or so spins.
The other bonus rounds were more hard to come by.
There is a White Rabbit free spins bonus which gives a random number of free spins and a random selection of sticky wilds. The Rabbit bounces across the screen and turns a selection of symbols into sticky wilds. This too is a very generous bonus round in terms of total payouts.
Lastly, you’ve got the ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ bonus – triggered by three Mad Hatter symbols. Here you pour tea for each of four characters. The longer they take to drink the tea, the more you win. And – if you are very, very lucky – if the sugar spoon puts sugar into a teacup, you win the progressive jackpot.
Review Conclusion: What we’re saying is that this is an unbelievably generous slots game. The ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ bonus alone could put you in profit very quickly. And that’s why we played the game more often than we usually should.
Personally, I turned ?200 into around ?800 in under 2 hours; Alison did something similar. But Eva turned her ?200 into over ?7300 – she started on the same ?2 bet as the rest of us, but lots of wins encouraged her to bet as much as ?10 per spin.
Don’t believe me – well here’s the screenshot to prove it.
We did play Adventures in Wonderland again and again over a number of sessions and two days, and the outcome was always the same. BIG PROFIT! I’d love to know what the average return to player is for this slot as we found we couldn’t lose.
So that’s why Adventures in Wonderland is a new favourite of ours. And we expect it will be one of yours too.
