Description and Review: Occasionally, there comes along a game that is difficult to review. Simply because you think it is awesome and don’t know how to describe it objectively without keeping saying ‘Oh my God, this is awesome’. Under The Bed is one such game.

With Under The Bed, BetSoft – the game developers – have really taken 3D video slots to the next level. I can’t stress strongly enough how superior this is to other games you have played in terms of visual goodies. The theme? As the name implies, Under The Bed is about the monsters under the bed. Except, in this case, these monster are all too real. Indeed, they will even backflip across the screen, fly down and scare the children and generally act out.

Now, I’ve read a lot of criticisms of some slots developers where players are saying that the games are designed by gamers or graphic designers that are not gamblers. Under The Bed is definitely one where the slot game itself is paramount in importance. Indeed, one of the options is that you can turn off some of the animations to make the game run faster. Personally, I wouldn’t take this option as the look of the game really makes it..

The game itself? Well, let’s review the features:

  • Double Up Feature: Yup, like most BetSoft (and Sheriff) slots, there is a chance to double your wins. Even if you’re not a big fan of this feature, you should try it at least once just to see the monster shake his head and look so disconsolate when he loses.
  • Sticky Wilds: These hit fairly frequently as any one of four different monsters can trigger the wild round. Just look out for monsters with a rim around the symbol.
  • Bonus Rounds: There are two bonus rounds – one with 12 free spins and another one where you have to help the children fight off the monsters under the bed.
  • The animations for these rounds are simply stunning – I love the way a spooky hand reaches out and pulls you into the free spins mode, for example.

From a purely slots gambling perspective, there is a lot to like about Under The Bed. Smaller wins hit every few spins and the larger wins make the game extremely compelling for long playing sessions. This is literally the only time we have rated a game 10/10 and we think you’ll rate it highly too.

Wild Symbol: Any one of four monster symbols with a Rim around that symbol is wild. The symbol then turns over to reveal the number of spins the symbol remains wild – up to a maximum of 5. During the wild spins round, the Double Up feature is unavailable.

Double Up: Wins can be doubled by guessing whether the next roll of the dice will be odd or even.

Free Spins: The door symbol appearing in the centre of reel three triggers 12 free spins.

Bonus Round: 3 scattered Bed symbols trigger the bonus round. You are then taken into Jesse and Jane’s darkened bedroom where you have to fight off a succession of scary monsters.
