Description and Review: I have to start this review of Space Wars by saying ‘C’mon NetEnt, get it together’. After the disappointing Muse, I was hoping for good things from their Space Wars slot. Visually, it doesn’t disappoint – the alien symbols are all cute and appealing (think Monsters Inc.) but the slot itself is not so great, I’m sorry to say.
It’s a 40 line game with no bonus round. Just a free spin if you get a winning line. In that respect, it’s not dissimilar to Starburst – only nowhere near as good.
With a return of 96.8% you could be forgiven for thinking that you would pick up some fairly regular wins, but, unfortunately, you don’t. There are dozens and dozens of spins without even the smallest of wins. There must be some big wins somewhere in this slot (or that RTP would be wrong), but I never found them.
The other thing is that I don’t understand the ‘Teleporter/Cloning’ feature. It’s not explained on the paytable. In the help file, it says that winning symbols are cloned and that ‘ the cloned symbol is shown stacked on the reels.’ Except, that they’re not – they do get added to the free spin, but they are definitely not stacked.
All in all, Space Wars is a real disappointment. It’s a pity, as visually, it’s very well done. The animations when you get a big win and the cloning thing are super cute, but the game doesn’t live up to it.
